   จากสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของโรคโควิด-19 เป็นเหตุการณ์หนึ่งที่ทำให้ผู้คนทั่วโลกได้เปลี่ยนแปลงวิถีชีวิตไปอย่างฉับพลัน ส่งผลให้ภาคอุตสาหกรรมมีการปรับตัวเพื่อหาแนวทางในการรับมือกับโรคระบาดในครั้งนี้ รวมถึงอุตสาหกรรมบรรจุภัณฑ์ ก็ได้มีการปรับเปลี่ยนไปตามพฤติกรรมของผู้บริโภคที่นิยมรับประทานอาหารพร้อมปรุงและอาหารพร้อมรับประทานมากยิ่งขึ้น ประกอบกับการขยายตัวของธุรกิจอีคอมเมิร์ชที่ช่วยผลักดันระบบการขนส่งสินค้าให้เติบโต ส่งผลให้บรรจุภัณฑ์ที่ใช้ครั้งเดียว (One-way packaging) และบรรจุภัณฑ์พลาสติกแบบยืดหยุ่นมีการใช้งานเพิ่มมากขึ้น นอกจากนี้ ยังได้มีการนำมาตรการรับมือกับภาวะโลกร้อน (Global warming policy) มาปรับใช้ในธุรกิจบรรจุภัณฑ์อีกด้วย

   ข้อกำหนดมาตรฐานของบรรจุภัณฑ์ขั้นพื้นฐานต้องยึดหลักความปลอดภัยของอาหารเป็นสำคัญ เพื่อป้องกันการเสื่อมเสียของคุณภาพอาหาร และจากการตระหนักและรณรงค์ในเรื่องภาวะโลกร้อน ผู้ประกอบการต้องพิจารณาว่ากระบวนการในห่วงโซ่อุปทานนั้นส่งผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมหรือไม่ โดยอุตสาหกรรมบรรจุภัณฑ์เป็นส่วนหนึ่งที่ทำให้เกิดปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อม จึงได้มีการออกนโยบายเพื่อบรรจุภัณฑ์มาผ่านกระบวนการรีไซเคิล (Recycle) หรืออัพไซเคิล (Upcycling) รวมถึงการนำบรรจุภัณฑ์แบบย่อยสลายได้ทางชีวภาพ  (Biodegradable grade) มาใช้กันมากขึ้น

   The COVID-19 pandemic has inevitably caused global citizens to change their lifestyles abruptly. As a result, industries also had to adjust and find ways to deal with this epidemic. This also includes the packaging industry, which also had to adapt and change according to the new world order consumers' behavior who now prefer more to ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat meals. At the same time, the expansion of the E-commerce business that helped drive the growth of the transportation sector has resulted in the increased use of single-use packaging (one-way packaging) and flexible plastic packaging. Additionally, the introduction of global warming policies has also been applied to the packaging business as well.

   Basic packaging standard requirements must be based on food safety to prevent the deterioration of food quality. From awareness and global warming campaigns, entrepreneurs must consider whether the processes in their supply chain are creating an impact on the environment or not. It is an undeniable fact that the packaging industry plays a key role in causing environmental issues. Therefore, a policy has been issued for packaging, which must go through a recycling and upcycling process, as well as the use of biodegradable packaging.
